About your mobile massage experience

 

Mobile massage therapy isn't anything new, and in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire there are many amazing practitioners providing top tier service and great outcomes to their clients, and Self-Care with Soph aims to become one of the best!

So how will a home-based mobile massage therapy session take place?

​

Set-up time will take approximately 20 minutes from arrival at your home and will involve transporting equipment from the car, into your home, followed by the assembly and preparation of the massage table and collation of products and oils required. Once the area is set-up, you will be given instructions on how to position yourself on the bed and provided with privacy to do this.

​

There are some things that you, the client, can do to prepare for your massage appointment and maximise the benefits of your appointment. Firstly, it's important that you have sufficient space in your home for the massage table and the therapist to move around the table comfortably. For women, hair should be sufficiently tied up with as few loose tendrils as possible. A good standard of personal hygiene and cleanliness of your environment is expected.

Other things you may choose to do for your appointment are:

Light a small number of candles to create a relaxing environment

​

Turn on lamps and turn off ceiling lights to create ambience

​

Put your phone on silent and choose a playlist to listen to during your massage

​

Close curtains or blinds to maintain a level of privacy

​

Drink plenty water prior to your massage to aid toxin removal

​

Go to the bathroom immediately before your massage begins, as massage accelerates the functioning speed of all our bodily systems, you may have an increased need to use the bathroom.

Have a dressing gown or other comfortable clothing ready in the room where your massage is taking place to re-dress in.

 

Take-down time is also 20 minutes and will involve stripping the massage table and packing it back into the car. Cleaning of equipment, washing hands and re-organisation of the room back to normal if necessary, as well as payment for your massage session.

Cash, card payments and bank transfers are accepted. For first time clients, payment for your session is taken on arrival, prior to your massage commencing.

Due to licensing laws, Self-Care with Soph is unable to provide music or playlists for your appointment. However, you are free to play music from your own device and speakers.
